AMP provides a single, common interface that enables WISPs' network operations administrators to seamlessly manage heterogeneous devices from multiple vendors.
• Scalability for the world's largest wireless networks. AMP's flexible distributed software architecture allows a service provider to manage a wireless network spanning tens of thousands of geographic locations from a single, integrated console.
• Real-time, user-based monitoring. A Wireless Internet Service Provider must be able to determine who is connected to its network, locate those users on the network, and conduct remote diagnostics when they call to report problems. With AMP's web-based interface, every user and device connected to a wireless LAN is fully visible to network administrators, who can monitor an individual user's signal strength, bandwidth utilization, roaming history, and more.
• Interoperability with WLAN gateway and access control solutions. WISPs must implement access control solutions to ensure that only authorized users can connect to the network and that individual quality-of-service guarantees are being met. AMP interoperates and communicates with most leading access control solutions, giving WISPs an integrated management solution.
• Remote RF monitoring. Wireless networks are often affected by interference from other, neighboring Wi-Fi networks. Diagnosing the resulting problems can be extremely difficult for service providers, since few of their hotspots have RF or network experts onsite. AMP enables WISPs' network operations groups to conduct wireless scans of the RF environment remotely from managed, authorized access points, and detect and resolve problems from thousands of miles away.
